Explore Tang Dynasty Qixiong Ruqun Set: A stunning Hanfu restoration inspired by elegant equestrian lady figurines from the Spring and Autumn era.
Inspiration Source:
This design is inspired by a painted clay figurine of a noblewoman on horseback, unearthed in 1972 from Tomb No. 187 at Astana, Turpan. The lady is elegant and dignified, wearing a veiled hat, holding the reins in her left hand, and sitting upright on the saddle — her outfit was considered very fashionable at the time.
The garment references two patterns found on the original figure’s blouse and skirt: two petal-like flower motifs and dark ink-coloured branches and leaves. The skirt is dyed in a distinctive celadon green shade, adding a fresh twist to the traditional qixiong ruqun (high-waisted Hanfu).
The cut is designed to be generously sized, making it more accommodating to various body shapes. The fabric is made from an opaque polyester with a simulated plain linen texture, simple and suitable for daily wear.
